Welcome to the Art Room at Laurelhurst Elementary!

Taking in the beautiful views of the trees outside our windows to the distant Olympic mountains, our students explore ways of seeing the world through the arts. In the art room we think about what art means to artists and communities, locally, around the globe, and through time. We learn how artists create with different materials and ideas, and we explore art making with these very tools and techniques. I believe art is about communication and collaboration, and I encourage students to be kind to themselves and others, to be brave in their creative efforts and to have fun!
